Partnership

At ABC we’re like one big family. Just like any healthy family, we love, care and help each other.
The kind of commitment that parents have towards each other and their children is a reflection of what “partnering” with ABC is all about. It’s about making a commitment to make ABC your “Spiritual Home” and living up to the responsibilities that go along with being part of the ABC family, as well as enjoying all the great moments of experiencing community together.

Is that something that you would like to commit yourself to?
We understand that involvement in the ABC family is not something that everyone wants to do, and we respect that. We believe that God has called ABC to a particular purpose and mission. The way in which we fulfil those purposes may not be something that suits everyone. However, if you feel that ABC and its “way of doing things” is something that you like and could see yourself being involved in, it is vital that you understand what that purpose is and what it means to every “partner” involved.

What is the purpose of ABC?
When ABC was established in 1995, the founders believe God gave them a mission to accomplish three key things through the church. This is what we now call ABC’s “Mission Statement” or "Vision". Basically it's our purpose for being. We would suggest that you read our vision pages to learn more before reading on.

What bother becoming a Partner?
We believe that fulfilling together the purposes that God has called us to at ABC is a way we can find true fulfilment in our own personal lives. God has a plan for each one of us to be loved, cared, supported, valued and developed. We believe that partnership with ABC is God’s way of fulfilling that within the local church.

As a partner of ABC we will fulfil God’s obligations upon us as a church to:

  • Love, care and pray for you.
  • Understand and support you.
  • Develop you.
  • Help you achieve your goals.

What’s expected of a Partner?
Firstly, we expect partners of ABC to become part of our purpose. That means a commitment to “live out” those purposes in your life:

  • To win those outside the kingdom - We expect partners to make a commitment to share their faith with others.
  • To disciple those who attend ABC - We expect partners to make a commitment of personal development. That means attending church services regularly, and developing yourself through personal devotion, attending courses, bible classes and teaching ministry at ABC.
  • To be Salt & Light within the community - To live a life that reflects our Christian standards, and demonstrate that lifestyle to those around us through  our actions, behaviour and speech.

Secondly, we believe that becoming an ABC Partner is a spiritual commitment that has the following responsibilities:

  • That you seek God to lead you into the many practical and spiritual areas of involvement required within the church (Acts 6:1-7).
  • That you demonstrate the “Fruits of the Holy Spirit” (Gal 5:22-23), and seek the “Gifts of the Holy Spirit” (1 Cor 14:1).
  • That you practice the principal of giving (2 Cor 9:6-8) and tithing (Mal 3:10) and encourage giving to be Tax Covenant linked if applicable.
  •  Give serious consideration to obeying the command to be baptised in water (Acts 2:38) and seek the baptism of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:4).

What are the requirements of Partnership?
To become a Partner you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Be a Christian (Received Jesus Christ as your Saviour).
  • Believe that God has led you to become part of the ABC family and be part of our purpose and mission.
  • Have attended ABC regularly for at least 6 months.
  • You agree with our church beliefs.
  • You agree to submit to the authority of those in leadership at ABC.
  • You agree to a commitment of personal development.

To become a partner we require you to:

  • Fulfil the requirements above.
