Netball

Ladies of all size and ability come together for a fun hour of netball. Denise, our coach, warms us all up with some stretching excercises, then off into a game. It really doesn't matter whether you've played for a league team or haven't played at all, everyone is given the opportunity to find the position they are comfortable with and appropriate levels of training given.
As well as a good work out, it's a good time out away from the washing and ironing and the pressures of running a home. So come and join us and burn off some stress!
On a regular basis we challenge other local teams to a friendly, we win some and we lose some, but whatever the result it's a great chance to burn off some calories. Once a year we hold a charity match in aid of BBC Children in Need. This is when we challenge the ABC Football lads to a game of Netball. There is a catch, the lads are in Drag! It always proves to be a Fab night and even though the competition is fierce, the main aim of the night is to collect as much cash from players and spectators as we can towards such a worthy charity.
2008 saw the first ABC Church Netball tournament, where a number of local teams took part. ABC didn't disappoint and came third overall, with excellent performances from all who took part. So fancy a go? Then join us every Monday evening at 8pm at Amman Valley Leisure Centre, Ammanford. A small charge of £3 is made to cover the cost of hiring the hall. We look forward to seeing you soon. If you fancy getting involved, please contact Melanie Harries or Ruth Morgan.
